Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet has made personnel calculations to prepare for the Vietnamese women's volleyball team in 2026.

Form determines admission to the national team

Almost certainly, 2 players Hoang Thi Kieu Trinh and Tran Tu Linh will not be named in the first training camp in 2026 of the Vietnamese Women's Volleyball Team. Both hitters have not played in the first round of the 2026 National Club Championship due to being in the recovery phase after injuries.

This year, the Vietnam Volleyball Federation continues to trust in the task of professional training the Vietnamese Women's Volleyball Team with coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet.

He once shared with the media at Dong Anh Gymnasium (Hanoi) in the recent round 1 that: "We are building a professional preparation plan for the upcoming Vietnamese Women's Volleyball Team. Players with the best form will be selected".

Round 1 has just taken place with 28 matches of the women's content. Domestic players of 8 teams have shown their form when competing.

Reality shows that not many new faces have created professional surprises in Dong Anh (Hanoi) recently. Experienced and well-trained players continue to be players given the opportunity to play.

In which, the group of players who were once SEA Games 33 Silver medalists still ensure key roles in their team. However, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will select a streamlined and neat force to perform tasks in 2026.

Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet said that the nearest task of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team participating is the AVC Cup 2026 (from June 6 to June 14) at the beginning of the month in the Philippines and it is very likely that the coaching staff will temporarily train 14 players participating in this tournament due to the continuous schedule between recent tournaments.

Opportunities at ASIAD 20

At ASIAD 19 held in 2023, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team was only allowed to register 12 players including Doan Thi Lam Oanh, Hoang Thi Kieu Trinh, Nguyen Thi Trinh, Doan Thi Xuan, Nguyen Khanh Dang, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, Vo Thi Kim Thoa, Vi Thi Nhu Quynh, Tran Tu Linh, Ly Thi Luyen, Tran Thi Bich Thuy, Pham Thi Nguyet Anh. We won 4th place at ASIAD 19.

After 3 years, many players on the list are still competing and continuing to achieve high performance such as Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, Tran Thi Bich Thuy, Ly Thi Luyen... They are the leading hitters who just competed in round 1 of the 2026 National Club Championship and continue to participate in the Hung Vuong Cup 2026.

The General Secretary of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation - Mr. Le Tri Truong affirmed: "ASIAD 20 is the central task of the Vietnamese Women's Volleyball Team this year. The top priority is that the team will focus on professional preparation to maintain the 4th place already held since ASIAD 19".

This year, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will have 5 important international missions: AVC Cup 2026, VTV Cup 2026, SEA V.League 2026, Asian Championship 2026, ASIAD 20.

The Vietnamese women's volleyball team can participate in some friendly training tournaments. All competition programs are built with goals as well as coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and the coaching staff find suitable players to focus on.

The best domestic hitters of Vietnamese women's volleyball have arrived at round 1 of the 2026 National Club Championship. Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet is directly present at the tournament, so he can see which faces are suitable for the professional plan this year of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team.

With the preparation program for ASIAD 20, it is almost certain that Mr. Kiet will soon select core players as the framework to build expertise from them.
