According to updated information from the Vietnamese cycling team, the Thai Cycling Association has purchased 18 new helmets, 18 pairs of racing shoes and 18 pairs of pedals for the Vietnamese cycling team.
Thai Cycling Association has also prepared 27 bicycles for the team to choose from and is transporting them from Bangkok to the competition venue.
As previously reported, the Vietnamese road cycling team flew to Thailand on the afternoon of February 5 to participate in the 2025 Asian Road Cycling Championship, which will take place from February 7 to 16. After arriving at Bangkok airport, the Vietnamese team boarded the organizing committee's bus to the competition venue.
The competition equipment, including bicycles, spare tires, shoes, and helmets, was transported by truck by the organizers. The reason why the truck caught fire is still unknown. However, the number of bicycles and equipment that the Vietnamese cycling team lost was quite large. Among them, there were athletes competing in 2 events, so they had to bring 2 specialized vehicles to compete.

Mr. Hoang Quoc Vinh - Head of High Performance Sports Department 1 (Department of Sports and Physical Training), the unit in charge of cycling informed that the incident of the entire bicycle of the Vietnam road cycling team burning was reported by the team leader and coaching staff.
The car fire is a rare incident or accident but it affects the athletes' psychology. Therefore, after specific working meetings with the organizing committee, the High Performance Sports Department 1 grasped the situation from the representative of the Vietnam Road Cycling Team and continued to give instructions according to the developments of the incident.
Immediately after receiving information about the incident, he directed the Head of the Vietnamese Cycling Delegation, General Secretary of the Vietnam Cycling and Motor Sports Federation - Head of Cycling, Department of Physical Education and Sports Nguyen Ngoc Vu, to urgently contact and coordinate with the organizing committee to fix and handle equipment so that the athletes can compete according to the organizing committee's schedule.
The coaching staff of the Vietnamese cycling team also kept the cyclists' spirits stable after the bike fire incident.
Regarding the compensation method, the organizing committee and the Asian Cycling Federation will meet and discuss the compensation method with the representative of the Vietnam Cycling - Motor Sports Federation, General Secretary Nguyen Ngoc Vu.
