Inter Milan entered the game proactively and soon created a difference. In the 9th minute, from a quick counter-attack, Piotr Zielinski successfully controlled the ball, Marcus Thuram passed favorably for Federico Dimarco to launch a diagonal shot, opening the score for the home team.
The early goal conceded did not make Napoli lose the game. The away team gradually controlled the midfield better and created significant pressure. In the 26th minute, Scott McTominay appeared at the right time in the penalty area, received a low pass from Matteo Politano and finished neatly, bringing the match back to the starting line. The first half ended with a balanced match when both teams had more opportunities but failed to take advantage of them.
In the second half, the pace of the match was pushed up with tit-for-tat. Napoli almost took the lead when Rasmus Hojlund missed an opportunity at a favorable distance. On the opposite side, Inter Milan also created significant pressure, but Lautaro Martinez and Hakan Calhanoglu did not beat the away team's defense.
The turning point came in the 73rd minute, when Inter was awarded a penalty after Amir Rrahmani fouled Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the penalty area. Calhanoglu did not make a mistake from the 11m spot, putting the home team ahead 2-1.
However, Inter's advantage only existed for a short time. In the 81st minute, from Politano's cross, McTominay rushed in to finish a close-range volley, completing a double and sealing a 2-2 draw for Napoli.
This result helps Inter continue to hold the top spot with 43 points, while Napoli maintains 3rd place after two consecutive draws.
