ASIAD 20 volleyball is scheduled to draw lots on July 23 in Nagoya (Japan).
The events of ASIAD 20 volleyball include indoor and beach competitions.
The indoor competition content will attract 32 teams to participate.
ASIAD 20 men's indoor volleyball has 16 registered teams including Iran, Pakistan, Korea, China, Indonesia, Thailand, Qatar, Bahrain, Taiwan (China), India, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Hong Kong (China), Philippines, Vietnam and Japan (host).
16 women's teams registered to participate in the indoor volleyball event including China, Kazakhstan, Iran, Taiwan (China), Thailand, Qatar, South Korea, Kyrgyzstan, India, Indonesia, Hong Kong (China), Mongolia, DPRK, Philippines, Vietnam and Japan (host).
Women's indoor volleyball at ASIAD 20 will be played from September 16 to September 22.
Men's indoor volleyball is held from September 27 to October 3.
Men's and women's beach volleyball will take place from September 20 to October 3.
For indoor volleyball, the defending ASIAD men's champion is Iran and the defending women's champion is China.
With ASIAD 20, Vietnamese sports plans to participate in all 4 teams including men's and women's indoor volleyball and men's and women's beach volleyball.
The Vietnamese women's volleyball team (indoor) was the team with the best results at ASIAD 19. At that time, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's team won 4th place.
