Immediately after winning 3rd place at the FIVB Challenger Cup 2024, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team continued to prepare professionally to attend the Future Stars friendly tournament in Shanghai (China), taking place from July 22 to July 28.
The list of Vietnamese women's team players participating in the tournament includes Khanh Dang, Kim Thoa, Tra My, Dang Thi Hong, Quynh Huong, Van Ha, Bich Tuyen, Le Thanh Thuy, Nguyen Thi Trinh, Nhu Quynh, Le Thi Yen, Tra Giang, Tu Linh.
It's a pity that Tran Thi Thanh Thuy is absent as this owner has her own personal plans. However, Bich Tuyen, Quynh Huong or Nhu Quynh can take on the position left by Thanh Thuy .
At the Future Stars tournament, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team are in Group B with the Shanghai youth team, U21 Elite Canada and the Red Sparks club (South Korea).
With U21 Elite Canada, this team has a key force of young players under 21 years old (from 2005 onwards). Therefore, in terms of experience and ability, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team is rated better and is predicted to win easily.
Meanwhile, the Shanghai youth team recently received long-term training and participated in a number of tournaments to practice skills and expertise. Although they are not highly rated opponents, they have a certain confidence when playing at home.
Finally, there is Red Sparks (Korea) - the strongest opponent of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team in competing for the top spot in Group B in this year's tournament.
Maeil Business Newspaper said that this team came to Shanghai with 18 players, including some prominent players including Lee Ji-soo, Lee Ye-dam, Choi Hyo-seo, Kang Da-yeon and Shin Eun. -ji.
"The tournament will greatly help the practical experience of the prospective players on the team. We will use this time as an opportunity to test our forces heading into the upcoming domestic season," Red Sparks coach Ko Hee-jin said.
If they win one of the top two positions in Group B, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will win the right to play in the semi-finals, meeting one of the four teams in Group A: China U17, France U22, Air Asian Club ( Thailand) and Sesi VC (Brazil).
Except for the Brazilian team, the above opponents are not expected to create many difficulties for the Vietnamese women's team. Therefore, the opportunity for Bich Tuyen and his teammates to advance straight to the final may be within reach.
But the most important thing is the experience, the opportunity to compete and practice to practice. This is considered an important stepping stone for the whole team to prepare for another important tournament, SEA V.League, gathering the 4 strongest teams in Southeast Asia.
