The Vietnamese women's team is focusing on preparing for the 2026 ASIAD women's football event. In the early days, the coaching staff prioritized helping the players regain their physical foundation and gradually improve their training intensity.
The Vietnamese women's team gathered again to prepare for ASIAD a few days ago. During this time, the coach is starting the training process, helping the players return to their physical foundation and gradually improve to ensure the best physical condition when entering competition at ASIAD," Hai Yen shared.
Hanoi weather in recent days has been hot, making the training process require appropriate adjustments. According to Hai Yen, the coaching staff and medical team are supporting players in supplementing water, vitamins and recovering after training sessions.
“In hot weather training sessions, athletes receive a lot of support from the coaching staff as well as the medical team. In training sessions, there is always enough water and necessary support plans. In addition, the whole team is also supplemented with vitamins and implements recovery measures after each stressful training session.

The women's team also receives great attention from the Federation in medical work. After training sessions, we are supported to recover well, so we are gradually adapting to hot weather conditions," Hai Yen said.
At ASIAD 2026, the Vietnamese women's team is in Group A with Japan, Taiwan (China) and Thailand.
The upcoming opponents are all quite familiar. Japan has a high level, while Taiwan (China) and Thailand are worthy opponents. The coaching staff has analyzed the opponents quite carefully and set the goal for the whole team to get through the group stage," said the Vietnamese women's national team striker.
During the generational transition, Tuyet Dung and Huynh Nhu did not participate in this gathering. Hai Yen has therefore become one of the most experienced players in the team and is more aware of her role.
In recent gatherings, Tuyet Dung and Huynh Nhu have been absent one after another. For me, this is also the process of gradually becoming the'leader' of the whole team. This responsibility is emphasized by the coaching staff, that is, I need to guide them to improve. I hope I can fulfill my responsibilities well," Hai Yen shared.
The striker born in 1994 assesses that the group of young players is making positive progress. Thanh Nha is considered an option in the wing position, while Minh Chuyen, Luu Hoang Van and Truc Huong are expected faces in the attack.
In the positions of Ms. Tuyet Dung and Ms. Huynh Nhu, there are also quite a few students who are improving. In the wing position of Ms. Tuyet Dung, Thanh Nha has been able to meet the requirements. As for the striker position of Ms. Nhu, players like Minh Chuyen, Hoang Van or Truc Huong are also increasingly improving.
I think with their youth and good fitness, they can meet the requirements of the coaching staff," Hai Yen commented.
According to the plan, the Vietnamese women's team will have more friendly matches at the end of August to complete the squad and tactics before leaving for Japan.
In the role of senior, Hai Yen said that she was reminded by head coach Hoang Van Phuc to set an example and support young players.
The coach also often reminds me that now that I am a big sister, I need to set an example. In training sessions, I need to support the coaching staff, and at the same time remind and help the players," Hai Yen shared.
