The sports industry has proposed a solution to select, train and coach 30 players with the best potential and ability in the number one key subject group. At this Olympics, shooter Trinh Thu Vinh is the face with the best results in a sport event that the Vietnamese Sports Team competed in (fourth place, 10m air pistol shot for women in shooting). ).
Thu Vinh will certainly continue to be a key trained player in the near future. Meanwhile, two players Ha Thi Linh (boxing) and Pham Thi Hue (rowing) will definitely have difficulty getting major investment because they are over the age of 30 and will prepare for the Los Angeles Olympics (USA) by 2028. , each person's age is at the age of 35.

At the Conference on Orientation for the Development of High Performance Sports to 2030 (December 2023), the Department of Physical Education and Sports proposed to select sports for key investment in group one (ASIAD Gold Medal competition group, medals Olympic) are shooting, gymnastics, archery, athletics, swimming, weightlifting, sailing, badminton, cycling and small weight events of taekwondo, wrestling, boxing, and judo.
Many experts say that we should ignore focusing on the SEA Games arena and only aim to compete for the highest achievements at ASIAD and the Olympics to properly demonstrate our high-achieving expertise. However, each arena has its own professional significance and tasks that Vietnamese sports must participate in. Above all is still the goal we set out to achieve.
In history, boxer Tran Hieu Ngan (taekwondo) won the Olympic Silver Medal in 2000 but she never had a Gold Medal at ASIAD. Gunner Hoang Xuan Vinh won a Gold Medal and a Silver Medal at the 2016 Olympics but has never won a Gold Medal in the ASIAD arena. Athlete Hoang Anh Tuan won a Silver Medal in weightlifting at the 2008 Olympics but has never won a Gold Medal at the SEA Games arena. Athlete Tran Le Quoc Toan won an Olympic Bronze Medal in 2012 but was not successful in the ASIAD arena.

In the process of preparing for the 2024 Paris (France) Olympics, Vietnamese sports do not carry out specialized long-term training programs abroad every year for any players.
Previously, we used to do this with swimmer Nguyen Thi Anh Vien. However, Anh Vien's only best result at the Olympics was ninth place in the 400m individual medley event at the 2016 Olympics. In 2016, shooters Hoang Xuan Vinh and Tran Quoc Cuong trained and competed internationally. Continuously achieve the level to compete against world opponents right in the Olympic arena.
