According to The Guardian, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump spent 40 minutes shaking around his favorite songs like YMCA and Ave Maria at a rally near Philadelphia on October 14, causing Democratic candidate Kamala Harris to express concern about his mental state.
"Hope he's okay," Harris wrote on X, along with footage of the performance that many observers agreed was strange, even by Trump's standards.
The random Music Festival in the suburbs of Pennsylvania, Oaks, took place after two audiences at an indoor rally fainted, apparently due to the hot weather.
When Mr Trump asked to install air conditioners, event host and South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem jokingly hinted at high inflation: "Maybe they can't afford to pay, sir, in this economy."
After that, Mr. Trump decided to change direction.
"Let's not ask any more questions. Let's just listen to music. Let's make it music. Who wants to hear the question, right?" - Mr. Trump said.
The list includes nine songs released, including Trump's typical favorite songs such as James Brown's It's A Man's Man's Man's World, Village People's YMCA, Sinead O'Connor's nothing Compares 2 U and Ave Maria by Luciano Pavarotti, all of which were played when Trump stood in the middle of the shaking or gently dancing stage.
Finally, Mr. Trump concluded: "The two fallen are patriots. We love them. And because of them, we had some great music, right?
Trump's use of music has been met with criticism. A long list of artists - including Celine Dion, Abba, Neil Young and Bruce Springsteen - have either condemned or taken legal action to prevent Trump's campaign from playing their songs at rallies.
On October 15, Rufus Wainright responded to Trump's use of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah cover performed by the singer during the election campaign by writing on Instagram that he was "very ashamed". Wainwright had said before the 2016 US presidential election that he would not sing this song again unless Donald Trump lost.
