The Vietnamese Sports Delegation is entering the stage of completing preparations before departing to participate in ASIAD 20 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.
At this Congress, Vietnam has 303 athletes competing in sports such as athletics, swimming, shooting, rowing, canoeing, sepak takraw, football, volleyball, martial arts, golf, badminton, fencing, e-sports and MMA. The athlete force is selected based on the preparation process, professional ability and goal of competing for achievements in the continental arena.
According to Mr. Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet - Director of the Vietnam Sports Administration, in the past time, the Party, State, Government and leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism have paid attention to and created conditions for Vietnamese sports, including regimes and policies for coaches, athletes, doctors and forces serving competitions.
Mr. Viet said that the resources for the delegation come not only from the State's policies but also from the participation of units, businesses and sports lovers. This is a source of additional support, and also creates more motivation for athletes before a highly competitive ASIAD.
Many sponsors have accompanied Vietnamese sports. To date, there are 2 sponsors accompanying and now there is a third sponsor. This is not only a source of material support but also a great spiritual encouragement for coaches and athletes.
Hopefully, the athletes will maximize their abilities, will to strive and determination. The medals that Vietnamese sports won at ASIAD will be concrete evidence of companionship, cooperation and resources for the delegation," Director Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet emphasized.
In the final stretch, the most important requirement for the teams is to maintain the competition status and complete the final stages before entering competition. ASIAD gathers a strong force of Asian sports, so each event requires careful preparation in terms of expertise, fitness and adaptability to competition conditions in Japan.
Along with the professional preparation process, the Vietnamese Sports Delegation continues to receive companionship from social resources, recently the boost from the Revive brand towards ASIAD 20.
Out of a total of 498 members of the delegation, the state budget ensures funding for 303 members of the core force, and the remaining 155 members participate from socialized sources or are self-sufficient by localities and federations.
This approach both reduces budget pressure and expands the ability to mobilize resources for the delegation," said Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh - Deputy Director of the Vietnam Sports Administration, Head of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation to ASIAD.
