The Vietnamese fencing team has registered a list of 10 fencers to compete in ASIAD 20 including: Nguyen Minh Hieu, Nguyen Tien Nhat, Hoang Nhat Nam, Nguyen Phuoc Den, Nguyen Phuong Kim, Nguyen Thi Kieu Oanh, Tran Thi Thuy Trinh, Le Van Bang, Nguyen Xuan Loi and Nguyen Minh Quyet.
The international training program to prepare for ASIAD 20 begins today, September 6th.
The Vietnamese fencing team is divided into 2 forces to train in Korea and China respectively.
2 players Phuong Kim, Kieu Oanh are sent to China for training.
The remaining faces practice in Korea. The professional training program lasts for 2 weeks.
The Vietnamese fencing team aims to compete for medals at ASIAD 20.
The fencing event includes 12 sets of medals for the events of swordsmanship (individual, team), three-edged swordsmanship (individual, team), swordplay (individual, team) for men and women.
At ASIAD 19, the Vietnamese fencing team did not win a medal achievement.
Therefore, the coaching staff of the Vietnamese fencing team carefully screened the force to select 10 players with the best form to go to Japan to compete in ASIAD 20.
According to the plan at training points in Korea and China, the Vietnamese fencer will have the opportunity to compete in practice with local athletes to strengthen expertise and adjust tactics appropriately before officially participating in ASIAD 20.
It is expected that on September 18, the whole team will finish training.
