On the afternoon of August 3, shooter Trinh Thu Vinh ended the competition in the 25m sports pistol event at the 2024 Olympics.
In terms of performance parameters, Thu Vinh's quick shot was even better than in the qualifying round. She tried to surpass herself, shooting 25 bullets, 16 bullets hit the 10.2 mark or above, while in the qualifying round on August 2, she shot 30 bullets, only 15 bullets hit the 10.2 mark or above. Thu Vinh ranked 7th. final with 16 points.
Previously, in the qualifying round of the 2024 Olympic women's 10m air pistol event taking place on July 27, Trinh Thu Vinh excellently entered the final round with 578 points, ranked 4th out of 44 athletes.
She scored 97 points with 7 series of 10 points and 3 scores of 9 (shot 1); 94 points with 5 shots of 10 points, 4 points of 9 and 1 point of 8 (shot 2); 96 points with 6 shots for 10 points, 4 shots for 9 points (shot 3); 97 points with 7 10s, 3 9s (shot 4); 100 points with 10 perfect scores (5 shots); 94 points (6 shots).
Thu Vinh is only 4 points behind the leader, Veronika Major, and is also the athlete with the second most hits (only less than Indian shooter Bhaker Manu).
On July 28, at the final of the women's 10m individual air pistol event, at the end of 7 shooting rounds, shooter Trinh Thu Vinh won 198.6 points to rank 4th overall.
Even though she couldn't win a medal, what Thu Vinh showed is still worthy of praise. She is the athlete with the most encouraging achievements in Vietnamese sports at the Paris Olympics to date.
Both events she competed in reached the finals. The fact that Thu Vinh won 4th place in the 10m air pistol content and 7th Olympic position in the 25m sport pistol content is a remarkable result for a new female shooter participating in this Olympics for the first time.
Trinh Thu Vinh has twice been in the top 8 best shooters in the world, appearing in 2 final events. Expert Park Chung-gun also showed that he is on the right track in focusing on training and improving Thu Vinh's professional abilities. In a short time, Thu Vinh has made a lot of progress, especially in the rapid pistol content.

With her achievements in the two finals of 10m air pistol and 25m women's sport pistol, shooter Trinh Thu Vinh was rewarded 100 million VND by President of the Vietnam Shooting Federation Do Van Binh, and former national team coach. Vietnamese shooter Nguyen Thi Nhung received a hot reward of 2,000 USD.
