Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just agreed to allow Ho Chi Minh City Football Joint Stock Company to install electronic screens (LED) to serve people watching football on Nguyen Hue street, Saigon ward, the section from Le Loi intersection to Ton Duc Thang intersection.
The projection activity is carried out from the semi-final to the final matches of ASEAN Cup 2026, according to the specific schedule of the Vietnamese team.
According to the plan approved by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, this area is arranged with 5 LED screens and 5 booths of sponsors. The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports is responsible for appraising the design, ensuring that the size and arrangement are suitable for the landscape space of the city center area.
Notably, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee requested that the projection activities be to serve people watching football and cheering for the Vietnamese team, not for commercial purposes. Plans on security and order, traffic safety, fire prevention and fighting, health, electrical safety, environmental sanitation and escape must also be ensured throughout the organization process.
According to information from Ho Chi Minh City Football Joint Stock Company, the LED screen at Nguyen Hue pedestrian street will serve fans to watch the ASEAN 2026 semi-final match between Malaysia and Vietnam, taking place at 8:00 PM on August 16.
This is an important match for the Vietnamese team on the journey to conquer ASEAN Cup 2026. The organization of a centralized football viewing space at Nguyen Hue pedestrian street is expected to create an additional meeting point for fans in Ho Chi Minh City to watch and support the team.
