On August 13, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee said that, authorized by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Le Trong Yen - Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee has signed a document requesting the Department of Construction to preside over and coordinate with relevant units to urgently inspect the phenomenon of localized subsidence and cracking at some locations under the Gia Nghia Central Square project.
The Department of Construction is assigned to conduct actual inspections and at the same time direct the Construction Investment Project Management Board No. 3 to have solutions to handle and promptly overcome existing problems at the project.

The Provincial People's Committee also requested units to provide information to the press in accordance with regulations and report on implementation results.
This move was made after Construction Investment Project Management Board No. 3 issued Official Dispatch (No. 1728/BQLDA3-KHTĐ) dated August 8, 2026 on providing information related to the phenomenon of localized subsidence and cracking during the project putting into use.
Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Construction to inspect the reality, compare the subsidence situation with the design documents and monitoring data to assess the extent of impact; and at the same time direct remediation and provide information to the press according to regulations.

According to the Project Management Board, subsidence and cracking are recorded on an area of about 700m2 at some locations of the square.
The Project Management Board said that the subsidence and cracking phenomenon at some locations of Gia Nghia Central Square is the subsidence of the foundation of the embankment, which has been calculated and forecast in the design.
Due to the large height of the embankment foundation, the consulting unit forecasts a subsidence level in a 15-year cycle of 18-69cm. In which, the first 24 months are forecast to have a subsidence level of about 12-33cm.

According to the investor, the current phenomenon mainly affects the surface paving layer, not affecting the main load-bearing structure, and the yard surface still ensures safety for people to use.
The Project Management Board said it will continue to monitor the actual subsidence parameters to have a handling plan.
The repair and replacement of the paving stone layer and completion of affected items are expected to be carried out during the warranty period, after the soil foundation reaches stability according to technical requirements.
As Lao Dong Newspaper has reported: Gia Nghia Central Square belongs to a project with a scale of more than 19ha, total investment of about 400 billion VND, which was inaugurated and put into use on July 25, 2026.
The appearance of subsidence and cracks in the project after being put into use has raised the requirement to inspect and assess the current status and level of impact.
