Pre-match information
The Vietnamese women's volleyball team will kick off the second leg of the SEA V.League 2024 by facing off against the Indonesian women's volleyball team.
In the first leg, the team led by coach Nguyễn Tuấn Kiệt easily won 3-0 against their opponents, with a score difference of 25-19, 25-17, and 25-19.
The Indonesian team is no longer the top team at this year's tournament. For the first time, Indonesia ranked fourth overall after the first leg, losing comprehensively to Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines.
The appearance of new head coach Chamnan Dokmai has not been able to bring a positive change to the Indonesian women's volleyball team, despite having the best team lineup, including star player Megawati.
Assistant coach Indra Wahyudi of the Indonesian women's volleyball team admitted that the players were unable to achieve their best performance due to a lack of preparation. They went through two weeks without training before participating in the SEA V.League, which affected their physical and mental performance.
After a poor performance in the first leg, the Indonesian team is determined to achieve better results in the second leg.
However, facing the Vietnamese women's volleyball team at this time is a major challenge for Indonesia. The current runner-up of the first leg has maintained a relatively stable performance in recent times, especially their performance against Thailand in the previous match.
Bích Tuyền and her teammates understand that they need to defeat Indonesia before competing for the championship with Thailand. Therefore, winning early against this opponent is the team's goal.
However, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team needs to focus on improving their first step better. This is considered the biggest weakness that opponents can exploit and capitalize on to score points. If they do well in this aspect, the team's attacking and defensive capabilities will be improved.
