As Lao Dong Newspaper reported, the High-Tech Agricultural Center in Dong Bam Ward ignored the order to return the land. Accordingly, although the Thai Nguyen City People's Committee requested Trung Anh High-Tech Joint Stock Company to relocate its assets and hand over the land in August 2024, up to now, this unit has not complied.
Misuse of Activity
Recorded on September 18, at the High-tech Agricultural Center project site, weeds grew wildly. The center's greenhouse area was abandoned and inactive. Some warehouses became places to gather construction materials.
Notably, an area of hundreds of square meters in the center of the ore gathering area was not covered.
Mr. Bui Duc Luong - Party Cell Secretary, Head of Nhi Hoa Residential Group (Dong Bam Ward) - said that this area was previously the land of Son Lam Company, and in 2019 it was temporarily handed over to Trung Anh Company for an agricultural project.
"At first, Trung Anh Company also planted a few orchids and lilies, using so-called high technology but it was not effective.
In addition, for the past 2 years, this place has also been rented out for gathering materials and ores. In essence, it is for the wrong purpose. The project is for high-tech agriculture but it is rented out for ore making.
"People have repeatedly complained about this unit leasing ore storage. They sift and sort causing dust and noise, affecting everyone. Not to mention the situation of vehicles carrying ore in and out damaging the road, causing traffic safety problems.
I have given my opinion to the local authorities about the people's reflection," said Mr. Luong.
According to Mr. Nguyen Dinh Ha (Tan Thanh Residential Group), the ore gathering unit often transports at night and with large loads. The road is dusty, and after one night, the ore is scattered all over the road. Recently, there has been a flood so the ore gathering vehicles have not been seen coming in anymore. This is an agricultural project that is currently being used for the wrong purpose.
Previously, in early January 2024, Dong Bam Ward People's Committee issued a document on the inspection and management of land use of Trung Anh Company.
At the time of inspection, part of the project area was discovered to be gathering ore and some machines serving ore selection and wholesale.
Ineffective
According to the investment policy decision of the High-tech Agricultural Center of Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee in February 2019, the project's operating capacity includes: 600,000 cut flowers/year; 280,000 orchids/year; 100 tons of common vegetables/year; 40 tons of melons/year; 100 tons of seafood/year...
The goal was to create a place to preserve rare flower and ornamental plant genetic resources, and create stable jobs for 100 local workers. However, after a period of ineffective operation, this agricultural center turned into a dumping ground.
On September 18, speaking with Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Toan Thang - Vice Chairman of Dong Bam Ward People's Committee - confirmed that at first, Trung Anh High-Tech Joint Stock Company planted some orchids and melons, but only a few crops. Overall, this project was not effective.
"The project's architectural scale includes administrative buildings, storage warehouses, material warehouses, net houses, and aquaculture ponds, but in fact this unit only has net houses and storage warehouses.
This unit requisitioned and reused the works of Son Lam Company (the old project before handing over the agricultural center). Before the request to reclaim and hand over the land to the city for management, the ward issued many notices but the enterprise has not complied," the leader added.
The High-tech Agricultural Center project has an estimated capital of over 100 billion VND, invested by Trung Anh High-Tech Joint Stock Company on a 5-hectare land area.
Initially, the total land fund requested by the investor was up to 10 hectares.
In August 2024, Thai Nguyen City People's Committee issued Document No. 620 requesting Trung Anh High-Tech Joint Stock Company to relocate assets and hand over land in August 2024 for city management.
