The draw program for the 2026 Asian Championship was implemented by the Asian Volleyball Federation on the afternoon of July 28 in China.
The draw results put the Vietnamese women's volleyball team in Group C with Japan, South Korea and Hong Kong (China).
Group A of the tournament includes China (host), Taiwan (China), Iran and Iraq. Group B includes Thailand (defending champion), Kazakhstan, Indonesia and Australia.
The 2026 Asian Championship will be held in China from August 21 to August 30. 8.
According to regulations, the top 3 teams of the 2026 Asian Championship will win a ticket to participate in the 2027 World Championship – World Cup 2027. In addition, the champion team will receive a ticket to participate in the 2028 Olympics in the US.
The Vietnamese women's volleyball team reached the semi-finals and won 4th place at the 2023 Asian Championship.
This year, the Vietnam Volleyball Federation and the coaching staff of the Vietnam Women's Volleyball Team aim to protect the achieved results.
Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet is preparing forces towards the 2026 Asian Championship and ASIAD 20. Therefore, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team has a training list of 28 players.
The Vietnamese women's volleyball team will compete in the first leg of the SEA V.Cup 2026 tournament in Dong Anh (Hanoi) from July 31 to August 2.
After that, Vietnamese female players will continue to compete in stage 2 in Chiangmai (Thailand) from August 7 to September 8.
After the SEA V.Cup 2026 tournament, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet will review the force to select the best player to participate in the 2026 Asian Championship.
The Asian Volleyball Federation stipulates that each team participating in the 2026 Asian Championship can register a maximum of 14 players.
