After a week of rest, the Vietnam women's team officially gathered again from July 13 to prepare for the 2025 Southeast Asian Women's Football Championship.

In the second training session in 2025, coach Mai Duc Chung kept the majority of the force competing in the 2026 Asian Women's qualifiers, and called up 3 more familiar faces including defender Tran Thi Hai Linh (Hanoi), midfielder Tran Thi Thu Xuan and central defender Le Thi Bao Tram (Than Khoang San Viet Nam), bringing the total number of players to 28.

The coaching staff continues to accompany head coach Mai Duc Chung with veteran assistants such as Doan Minh Hai, Doan Thi Kim Chi, Nguyen Thi Kim Hong, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh, along with fitness expert Brandi Jose Regato Neto and the medical team.

According to the plan, the team will gather at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center, starting the first training session on the afternoon of July 13. After a week of training in Hanoi, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team will travel to Quang Ninh for 10 days of training, before moving to Hai Phong on July 30 - where the matches in Group A will take place.

In Group A of the 2025 Southeast Asian tournament, the Vietnam women's team (host) will face Cambodia (6.8), Indonesia (9.8) and Thailand (8.2) at Lach Tray Stadium. After winning a ticket to the 2026 Asian finals, the team's goal is to continue to affirm its regional position by competing for the championship this time.
