Right after the opening whistle, coach Mai Duc Chung's students took the opportunity to attack and quickly dominated the game. Just 2 minutes after the ball rolled, Huynh Nhu dribbled the ball on the right wing and crossed into the penalty area. The Guam goalkeeper pushed the ball indefinitely, creating conditions for Nguyen Thi Van to rush in to score the opening goal for the Vietnam women's team.
In the 13th minute, the Guam defense made a serious mistake when passing the ball wrongly in the penalty area, allowing Bich Thuy to steal the ball and then coolly finish to increase the score to 2-0.

In the 25th minute, it was Huynh Nhu with a cross from the right wing, causing the Guam defender to lose the ball indecisionally. Bich Thuy seized the opportunity very quickly to complete the double, putting Vietnam ahead 3-0 after less than 30 minutes of play. The first half ended with a big advantage for the Vietnam women's team.
In the second half, captain Huynh Nhu continued to play outstandingly with many dangerous breakthroughs. However, she and Bich Thuy were unlucky when the shots were later denied by the post and crossbar. After many efforts, Huynh Nhu was given a break in the middle of the second half.
In the 73rd minute, Hai Yen scored the winning goal to seal a 4-0 victory for Vietnam, ending a perfect match.
In the early match of the same group, the UAE easily defeated Maldives with a score of 5-0. However, this did not affect the top spot of the Vietnam women's team, when the girls in red earned all 9 points after 3 matches, scoring a total of 17 goals and conceding none.
With this impressive achievement, the Vietnam women's team officially won a ticket to the 2026 Asian Cup Women's finals in Australia, marking another successful milestone under coach Mai Duc Chung.
