According to the plan, coach Kim Sang-sik and his team will leave Hanoi on the morning of August 20. The flight is scheduled to depart at 8:50 am and land at Suvarnabhumi Airport (Bangkok) at 10:50 am.
The travel schedule was deployed immediately after the second leg semi-final match took place on the evening of August 19th at My Dinh Stadium. The Vietnamese team won 2-0 against Malaysia, thereby overcoming the opponent with a total score of 4-0 after two legs to win the right to enter the ASEAN Cup 2026 final.
After the match, the players were given a short break before continuing their journey to Thailand. Having to play with high density and move immediately after the semi-final made the issue of physical recovery especially focused on by the team.
VFF has prepared travel, hotel, and accommodation conditions for the Vietnamese team to quickly stabilize in Bangkok. Coach Kim Sang-sik and his team will have a short time to recover and prepare for the first leg final.
The opponent of the Vietnamese team is Thailand, the most successful team in ASEAN Cup history with 7 championships. The first leg final takes place at 8:00 PM on August 22nd at Rajamangala Stadium.
After that, the two teams will rematch in the second leg at My Dinh Stadium at 8 pm on August 26. The Vietnamese national team is aiming to defend the ASEAN Cup championship, thereby for the first time in Vietnamese football history to be crowned champion in two consecutive tournaments.
