According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, currently, the tropical convergence zone has its axis at about 19 - 22 degrees North latitude connected to the tropical depression. At 13:00 on August 19, the tropical depression was located at about 19.6 degrees North latitude; 112.2 degrees East longitude, over the northern sea area of the Northern East Sea.
Phu Quy Special Zone has strong Southwest winds at level 6, gusts at level 7-9; Song Tu Tay station has gusts at level 7; Phu Quoc station has gusts at level 8. The Gulf of Tonkin sea area, from southern Quang Tri to Ca Mau, Ca Mau to An Giang, the Gulf of Thailand, the North, Central and South East Sea areas (including Hoang Sa and Truong Sa special zones) have scattered showers and thunderstorms.
On the night of August 19 and the day of August 20, the northwest sea area of the Northern East Sea has strong winds of level 6-7, gusts of level 9; strong rough seas, waves 2-4m high.
The North East Sea area (including the Hoang Sa special zone), the Central East Sea, the North of the South East Sea area (including the North of the Truong Sa special zone) and the sea area from Gia Lai to Vinh Long have strong southwest winds at level 6, gusts at level 7-8; rough seas, waves from 2-4m high.
The Northern Gulf area has wind level 5, sometimes level 6, gusts level 7-8; rough seas, waves 1.5-2.5m high.
The Southern Gulf of Tonkin area, the sea area from Ca Mau to An Giang and the Gulf of Thailand have strong southwest winds of level 5, sometimes level 6, gusts of level 7-8; rough seas, waves 1.5-3m high.
On the night of August 19 and the day of August 20, the Gulf of Tonkin, the sea area from South Quang Tri to Gia Lai, from Lam Dong to Ca Mau, Ca Mau to An Giang, the Gulf of Thailand, the North, Central and South East Sea areas (including Hoang Sa and Truong Sa special zones) will have scattered showers and thunderstorms. In thunderstorms, there is a high possibility of tornadoes, strong gusts of wind at level 7-8, sea waves over 2m high.
On the night of August 20 and the day of August 21, the Northern East Sea area (including the Hoang Sa special zone) will have strong southwest winds at level 6, gusts at level 7-8, especially the sea area northwest of the Northern East Sea area and the East of the Gulf of Tonkin will have strong winds at level 6-7, gusts at level 9, waves 2-4m high; strong rough seas.
The central area of the East Sea, the sea area north of the Southern East Sea area (including the north of the Truong Sa special zone), the sea area from southern Quang Tri to Ca Mau has strong southwest winds at level 6, gusts at level 7-8; waves 2-4m high; rough seas.
The meteorological agency warns that the level of natural disaster risk at sea is level 2, especially in the northern sea area of the North East Sea level 3.
All ships operating in the above areas are at high risk of being affected by strong winds and large waves.
