The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has just announced the rankings of national teams for July 2026 with many fluctuations after the FIFA World Cup 2026 closed. The Spanish national team rose to the top of the world, while the Vietnamese national team continued to maintain the 99th position.
Thanks to the 2026 World Cup championship, Spain added 121.17 points to reach 1,995.88 points, thereby surpassing Argentina to take the world No. 1 position. This is also the team with the most points added in this ranking.
Argentina, the runner-up of the 2026 World Cup, dropped to second place, while France finished third. England finished fourth after winning third place in the tournament.
The remaining positions in the top 10 respectively belong to Brazil, Morocco, Portugal, Belgium, Netherlands and Mexico. In which, Morocco rose to 6th place - the highest ranking in the history of this team. Norway is the team with the strongest progress when increasing 12 places thanks to their impressive achievements at the World Cup.
In the opposite direction, the Vietnamese team was added 1.52 points after a 4-0 victory over Myanmar in the international friendly match, raising the total score to 1,227.20. This result helps coach Kim Sang-sik's team continue to hold the 99th position in the world, thereby maintaining their presence in the top 100 FIFA.
In Southeast Asia, Thailand is still the team with the highest ranking, ranking 94th in the world with 1,250.80 points, 23.60 points higher than the Vietnamese team.
Maintaining a position in the FIFA top 100 is considered an advantage for the Vietnamese team in the seed grouping process in tournaments organized by FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) in the near future. The Vietnamese team will have the opportunity to improve their position in the rankings through the next matches, including the ASEAN Cup 2026.
