In this gathering, the coaching staff summoned 30 athletes from many units such as Sports Center II (Ninh Binh Department of Culture and Sports), Thai Nguyen Sports Training and Competition Center, Hanoi Sports Training and Competition Center and Thong Nhat Sports Center.
The team continued to be led by head coach Okiyama Masahiko, who accompanied the players through the qualifiers to win a ticket to the finals.
Right in the afternoon of February 23, the whole team entered the first training session according to plan. In the next two weeks, Vietnam U20 women's team will maintain a training schedule of two sessions per day at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center to consolidate physical foundation, improve technical and tactical aspects as well as review forces.
According to the plan, from March 6 to March 14, coach Okiyama Masahiko and his team will go to China for training and competition to improve their expertise. After that, the team will return home and continue to be stationed in Ho Chi Minh City from March 15 to March 28 to get acquainted with weather conditions similar to Bangkok - the venue for the final round.
During the training period in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam U20 women's team is expected to play two friendly matches with Uzbekistan U20 women's team on March 24 and March 27. These are considered important tests before the team departs to participate in the official tournament.
On March 29, the whole team will move to Bangkok (Thailand) to participate in the 2026 AFC U20 Women's Championship finals. At this tournament, Vietnam U20 women's team is in Group A, facing China U20 women's team, host Thailand and Bangladesh on April 1, April 4 and April 7.
