On the afternoon of February 24, in an exchange with Lao Dong Newspaper, a representative of Phuoc Long Ward People's Committee said that they had information about the fire at a wood furniture business establishment on Do Xuan Hop street.

Accordingly, at 3:23 PM on the same day, functional forces received a fire report at Toan Cau furniture business establishment at address 268, Do Xuan Hop street. Immediately after that, firefighters were dispatched to the scene and controlled the fire after more than 15 minutes. The fire was completely extinguished at 3:50 PM.
Currently, the cause of the fire has not been specifically determined, but the fire did not cause any casualties.


About 75/150 m2 of level 4 houses (wooden furniture stores) were damaged. The fire was prevented from spreading to the surrounding area and adjacent houses.
As previously reported, at about 3 pm on February 24, smoke and fire suddenly flared up from a wooden furniture store located on Do Xuan Hop street (next to 268). Discovering the fire, people tried to put out the fire but initial efforts failed.



The fire then flared up fiercely, a column of smoke rose high, and traffic through the area was congested.
Previously, on February 4, Kica bakery (located next to Toan Cau furniture store) also caught fire, causing much property damage.
According to information from Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation, as soon as receiving a fire report at 3:24 PM, the unit immediately implemented remote power cuts in the area to ensure firefighting safety. This incident disrupted the power supply of 2,819 customers in the area from Rec Heo Nam Hoa to LBS PĐ Nam Ly (22kV Caric line).
After the fire was extinguished, through scene inspection, the electricity sector recorded that the power grid system was heavily damaged, including:
2 medium-voltage phased wires were burned and a section of the neutral wire was broken.
Fire of shut-off device (DS) branch of Phuoc Long A Residential Area.
2 ABC cable paths belonging to Phuoc Long 10 station were completely burned.
Currently, Thu Duc Power Company (PC) is mobilizing forces to focus on overcoming the mid-voltage incident.
It is expected that by about 7:00 PM tonight, PC Thu Duc will restore power to 2,765 customers. Specifically for Phuoc Long 10 substation (serving 54 customers), due to having to retract 2 new cable lines, it is expected that by about 8:00 PM on the same day, power can be restored to normal.
