Update on gasoline and oil prices on August 18: World oil prices in today's trading day fluctuated in opposite directions.

At 5:50 PM on August 18, 2026, world gasoline and oil prices fluctuated in opposite directions. Accordingly, WTI oil price was at 83.90 USD/barrel, up 0.16 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 0.19%. Brent oil was at 90.71 USD/barrel, down 0.16 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 0.18%.

Oil prices continued to trend upwards in the trading session on August 18 as expectations for an agreement between the US and Iran weakened, increasing concerns about oil supply from the Middle East.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the world gasoline and oil market in this operating period is affected by key factors such as: Information related to negotiations on controlling and reopening the Strait of Hormuz; Iran and the US demand mutual compensation; Houthi forces attack oil refinery in Saudi Arabia; OPEC and IEA lower oil demand growth forecast for 2026; Military conflict between Russia and Ukraine continues, focusing heavily on energy facilities, oil refineries...

The above factors have caused world finished gasoline and oil prices in recent days to increase and decrease depending on the item.

The selling prices of popular consumer gasoline and oil items on the market on August 18 are as follows:

- E5 RON92 gasoline: not higher than 21,235 VND/liter, 884 VND/liter lower than E10 RON95-III gasoline;

- E10 RON95-III gasoline: not higher than 22,119 VND/liter;

- Diesel oil 0.05S: not higher than 27,233 VND/liter;

- 180CST 3.5S fuel oil: not higher than 16,756 VND/kg.

Gasoline and oil selling prices of neighboring countries of Vietnam on August 13, 2026:

- Regarding gasoline prices: Thailand: 28,436 VND/liter (Government subsidies); Cambodia: 26,760 VND/liter (Government subsidies); Laos: 44,136 VND/liter; China: 32,383 VND/liter (Government price control); Vietnam: 22,119 VND/liter.

- Regarding oil prices: Thailand: 28,436 VND/liter (Government subsidies); Cambodia: 31,274 VND/liter; Laos: 37,152 VND/liter; China: 29,366 VND/liter (Government price control); Vietnam: 27,233 VND/liter.

Vietnam's gasoline and oil prices are currently low compared to countries sharing a common border.
