At 18:00 on July 20, 2026, world gasoline and oil prices simultaneously increased. Accordingly, WTI oil price was at 81.82 USD/barrel, up 0.04 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 0.05%. Brent oil was at 88.58 USD/barrel, up 0.48 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 0.54%.

On the first trading day of the week, world oil prices rose sharply after the US and Iran continued large-scale airstrikes over the weekend, raising concerns about the risk of widespread conflict in the Middle East and disruption of global supply.

Fighting continues to concentrate around the Strait of Hormuz. Transportation through this area is still significantly disrupted, causing the market to add risk compensation to oil prices.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the world gasoline and oil market in this operating period is affected by key factors such as: The re-emergence of attacks between the US and Iran; the US announces the re-imposement of blockades on Iran's coast, ports, and oil storage facilities; Iran announces the closure of the Strait of Hormuz; the military conflict between Russia and Ukraine continues, Ukraine focuses on attacking Russian oil refineries; Russia bans diesel oil exports...
