Domestic coffee prices
On September 19, coffee prices in the Central Highlands provinces decreased by VND100/kg compared to the previous session, bringing the average price down to VND116,400/kg. This is the lowest price since the beginning of this week.
In Dak Lak, Lam Dong and Gia Lai, coffee prices remained stable compared to yesterday, at 116,500 VND/kg, 115,800 VND/kg and 116,200 VND/kg respectively.
In Dak Nong alone, the price decreased by VND 200/kg to VND 116,500/kg, which was the main reason for the average price in the whole region to decrease.
After setting a high price of 120,000 - 122,000 VND/kg, domestic coffee prices have been continuously adjusted down throughout this week.
World coffee prices
Coffee prices on international exchanges have mixed developments:
Robusta price ( London): Near-term contracts all decreased slightly. The contract for November 2025 decreased by 3 USD/ton to 4,447 USD/ton. This development shows that selling pressure is still there for Robusta coffee.
Arabica prices (New York City): On the contrary, Arabica prices increased sharply and set a new high. The December 2025 contract increased by 5.20 US cents/lb to 380.85 US cents/lb. This increase shows that concerns about supply are still present and motivate investors to buy.
World coffee prices had a mixed trading session on Thursday, in which Robusta coffee prices fell to a one-week low. Forecasts of showers next week in Brazil's coffee growing regions are putting pressure on coffee prices in general.
However, Arabica coffee prices increased more strongly on Thursday. The main reason is that the Brazilian real increased in price to a 15-month high against the dollar, which has promoted the activity of placing a fake position in the futures market. The stronger real currency reduces the revenue when converting foreign currency of Brazilian coffee producers, thereby limiting export activities and creating pressure to push prices up.
