On the New York Stock Exchange, arabica coffee futures for December 2025 ended at 373.65 US cents/pound (down 0.75 cents), and for March 2026 there was 361.30 US cents/pound (down 0.90 cents).
For the whole week, London robusta prices lost more than 500 USD/ton, while arabica New York also decreased by more than 20 cents/pound compared to last week.
Causes - assessments
The market last week fluctuated strongly due to many factors. The report on unsatisfactory jobs in the US has raised concerns about weak consumption demand, while the coffee harvest progress in Brazil has almost completely been completed, creating selling pressure.
In contrast, supporting factors include forecasts of falling Brazilian arabica output, low ICE coffee inventories and a 1.6% decrease in global coffee exports in July compared to the same period, only helping prices avoid further declines.
Domestically, the sharp decrease of nearly VND9,000/kg compared to the beginning of the week clearly reflects the close follow of international fluctuations. The coffee market is closing a week of uncertainty, leaving open the trend in the coming sessions.
