Assessment and forecast
After a series of high increases, domestic pepper prices have been adjusted down for 3 consecutive days. The demand from the Chinese market for white pepper and green pepper to extract from the Indian market is quite good. Other markets such as the US and EU are also participating in black pepper purchases with both long-term and spot orders.
In the country, at this time, farmers in localities are focusing on harvesting pepper. Garden owners are excited because pepper prices are at a high level. This has motivated people to continue to invest, take care of pepper gardens, and improve product quality. However, the productivity of the gardens of some areas has decreased due to the impact of the weather.
In addition, in the past, most farmers, after harvesting pepper, had to deposit all their products with agents and companies, so they were forced to pay. In recent years, farmers who have finished harvesting will dry at home, avoiding the situation of being forced to price, thereby selling prices higher when the time is right.
