World pepper prices: fluctuations in Indonesia
In the world market, pepper prices are unchanged in most regions. In particular, the Indonesian exchange - one of the busiest markets - extended its downward trend. Currently, these two items are traded between 6,809 - 9,176 USD/ton (equivalent to 179,799 VND/kg - 242,302 VND/kg), down 2.23% and 4.59%, respectively.
Meanwhile, the Brazilian market remained unchanged at 6,075 USD/ton (about 160,417 VND/kg). In the same direction, black and white pepper traded at 12,000 USD/ton and 9,000 USD/ton.
Notably, in the Vietnamese pepper export market, the price of 500 g/l and 550 g/l black pepper remains in the price range of 6,500 - 6,700 USD/ton. ASTA white pepper prices are currently at 9,250 USD/ton (equivalent to 244,256 VND/kg).

Assessment and forecast
The increase in pepper prices comes from the resonance of many positive factors. In particular, the coffee price exceeding 92,000 VND this morning has completely relieved financial pressure on farmers in the Central Highlands - who often intercrop two types of crops. They no longer need to sell to circulate capital, leading to "hoarding" goods waiting for higher prices, creating a shortage of actual supply.
Along with that, reports show that Chinese traders are increasing purchases of white pepper and black pepper to serve the peak consumption season for the Lunar New Year 2026.
According to experts, with the current increase, the next resistance level that the market is aiming for is 155,000 VND/kg. However, despite the increasing trend, owners of growing areas should be cautious with technical adjustments when the world market is off tomorrow. A just- enough selling strategy when prices increase is still the optimal option.
