Assessment and forecast
The pepper industry is shifting from expanding the area to focusing on improving quality, promoting deep processing and expanding the market. In particular, the organic production model in the Central Highlands is increasingly applied by farmers to meet strict export standards, improving the competitiveness of Vietnamese products.
Currently, key pepper growing areas have begun to harvest, but the progress is slower than every year due to the impact of the weather. The 2025 crop is expected to be longer, with the peak harvest in late March or early April. Meanwhile, consumption demand in the US, EU and China is still quite slow, due to the supply from the old harvest almost exhausted and the new crop arriving later than expected.
