Domestic pepper prices
Today (July 5), domestic pepper prices traded in the range of 134,000 - 135,000 VND/kg, a sharp decrease of 3,000 - 4,000 VND/kg compared to last week.
Ending last week, Gia Lai and Ho Chi Minh City both decreased by 3,000 VND/kg, down to 134,000 VND/kg.
Similarly, pepper prices in Dong Nai decreased the most by 4,000 VND/kg, reaching 133,000 VND/kg.
Dak Lak and Lam Dong are no exception when the downward trend covers the entire region. The recorded decrease is up to 4,000 VND/kg, bringing the transaction price down to 135,000 VND/kg.

World pepper price
According to data from the International Pepper Corporation (IPC), pepper prices last week increased and decreased alternately.
Indonesian black pepper prices last week remained flat compared to the closing of last week, currently listed at 7,121 USD/ton.
Meanwhile, Indonesia's Muntok white pepper price increased slightly by 1 USD/ton) compared to the previous week, reaching 9,253 USD/ton.
Following the trend, the price of Brazilian black pepper type ASTA 570 maintained the price range, anchored at the threshold of 5,900 USD/ton. The price of black and white pepper in Malaysia remained stable at 9,350 USD/ton and 12,250 USD/ton last week.
In Vietnam, the export price of black pepper also remained unchanged in the range of 6,100 - 6,200 USD/ton for types 500 g/l and 550 g/l.
Assessments and forecasts
According to data from Comex Stat, in June 2026, Brazil exported 6,202 tons of pepper, reaching a turnover of 38 million USD, up 7.7% in volume compared to the same period last year but down 32.1% compared to May.
Senegal surpassed Vietnam to become Brazil's largest pepper import market in the month with 1,164 tons, accounting for 18.8% of total exports. Vietnam ranked third with 715 tons, down 76.4% compared to the previous month.
For the domestic market, this is the week that interrupts the series of price increases and establishes a short-term bottom and fluctuates in the range from 133,000 - 135,000 VND/kg.
