Fireworks prices increase sharply
As Lunar New Year approaches, the Z121 fireworks market on the online market has become hotter than ever. Fireworks such as the 25-tube flashing pellet sprayer, listed at 330,000 VND/set, are currently being sold commonly at 400,000 - 500,000 VND/set.
A seller in Hanoi revealed: "I have had more than 50 boxes of firecrackers since the beginning of the month, now I only have 20 boxes left. But I am keeping them because I hope that on the 29th of Tet the price will increase."
In addition to the flashing pellet spraying rig, other products such as the special 25-tube pellet spraying rig also increased sharply from 350,000 VND/rig to 480,000 VND/rig.
According to Lao Dong, in just one week before Tet, the price of the 2024 flashing pellet spraying rig increased from 400,000 VND to 420,000 VND/rig. High-end products such as the 75 VIP Rig and the 100 VIP Rig also continuously increased in price, from 1,350,000 VND and 1,750,000 VND/rig to 1,400,000 VND and 1,800,000 VND/rig, respectively.
Sellers hold goods, buyers are impatient
The atmosphere on firework buying and selling forums and groups has become lively. Some buyers said they are willing to pay high prices to buy fireworks before New Year's Eve.
Mr. Tran Ngoc Ha - a customer in Hoang Mai district (Hanoi) - shared: "I had to search all day on Facebook groups. Even though the price was high, I still ordered 5 flashing pellet sprayers because I was afraid that if I left it for a long time, it would be out of stock."
On the contrary, many sellers are "playing their cards face up" by holding onto their goods and waiting for an opportunity. A firecracker seller in Hai Phong said: "I am holding back some goods to wait for New Year's Eve, when demand increases sharply, the price will definitely be even higher."
In the price fever, some sales accounts take advantage of buyers' impatience to push up prices or deliver poor quality products. A representative of Z121 Company recommends: "People should buy fireworks from official channels to ensure the products meet standards. We have listed specific prices for each type of product."
Each genuine Z121 fireworks product has a QR code sticker for easy identification by customers. Consumers need to carefully check product information before buying to avoid losing money and getting into trouble.
According to Decree 137/2020/ND-CP of the Government, only organizations and enterprises under the Ministry of National Defense are allowed to trade in fireworks, and this business must comply with strict conditions on security, order, and fire prevention and fighting. Accordingly, only Factory Z121 and the Defense Industry Economic and Technical Corporation (GAET) are licensed to produce and trade fireworks.
Fireworks sales must be conducted at licensed stores of these two entities. Any fireworks sales outside of licensed stores, including on online marketplaces, are considered a violation of the law.
