On June 28, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, the leader of the People's Committee of Quynh Luu District (Nghe An) said that 11 commune-level cadres and civil servants in this district have been decided to return to work after 7 months of early retirement. This change occurred after the Nghe An Provincial Department of Home Affairs discovered that the issuance of early retirement decisions for these officials was not in accordance with the procedures.
Previously, in December 2024, the People's Committee of Quynh Luu district issued a decision to retire 11 cadres and civil servants before the age, including 4 chairmen of the Commune People's Committee, 1 secretary, 1 deputy secretary of the Commune Party Committee and other positions such as chairman, vice chairman of the Fatherland Front, Veterans Association, and farmers' association. These officers were all born between 1964 and Bre). The early retirement is carried out with the aim of merging communes in the area.
However, recently, the Department of Home Affairs of Nghe An province discovered that the issuance of these retirement decisions by the People's Committee of Quynh Luu district was contrary to the provisions of Decree No. 29/2023 of the Government on staff streamlining, because the decisions had not been approved by the Provincial People's Committee.
On June 19, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee requested Quynh Luu District People's Committee to revoke retirement decisions and review and handle the responsibilities of related individuals and organizations. At the same time, these cadres will be considered for continued work in the new communes after the merger if they wish.
The leader of the People's Committee of Quynh Luu district said that these officials have been assigned to work in the new communes after the merger, ensuring compliance with the provisions of the law.
