The live television program Commemorating the 70th Anniversary of the Northward Gathering - Deep Love and Heavy Meaning aims to remember the historical milestones of the nation with the contributions and sacrifices of previous generations to achieve peace, independence, happiness and prosperity of the country today. At the same time, it highlights the significance of the Northward Gathering event, marking a historical shift of forces contributing to the struggle for national unification.
The television bridge took place at 3 locations: Monument "Train to the North" (Ca Mau); Monument "Train to the North" (Thanh Hoa) and Hai Phong Opera House. In particular, the two locations in Ca Mau and Hai Phong were the places that witnessed this important historical event.
Previously, at 6:00 p.m. on November 16, at the Monument of the train gathering to the North, Ca Mau province held a ceremony to receive the certificate of ranking the National Monument for the gathering place to the North in late 1954 and early 1955 on the South bank of the Doc River (Song Doc town, Tran Van Thoi district, Ca Mau province).
The monument of the train to the North was also inaugurated by Ca Mau province before the television program.
The monument commemorating the 1954 Northward train trip has a total investment of 195 billion VND and was started on January 2, 2024. The project includes a ship monument 22 m long; 7 m wide and 7.2 m high at the bow; a reinforced concrete ship hull painted to imitate stone; reliefs on both sides of the ship hull and granite statues.
Monument area floor with an area of 1,000 m2; event area floor with an area of 2,000 m2; overpass to the monument area and connecting to the road along the embankment 650 m long; traffic road connecting to the monument 385 m long; parking lot with an area of 2,000 m2.
Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province Pham Thanh Ngai said that the Monument commemorating the 1954 Northward train is one of the works of great historical significance, a red address contributing to educating revolutionary traditions, patriotism, and national pride for today's and future generations. This is also one of the works to welcome the 17th Congress of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030.
