Of these, Ca Mau had the longest gathering time of 200 days (from July 21, 1954 to February 10, 1955). The center of the gathering area was the Chac Bang canal (today's Thoi Binh district), and the area where ships anchored to transport the gathering forces was the Song Doc estuary (Tran Van Thoi district).
The commemorative activities aim to propagate and educate historical traditions, patriotism, national pride and self-respect, contributing to fostering people's trust in the Party and State, creating a premise to fight and refute false, hostile and anti-Party, State and people arguments. This is also an opportunity to introduce and promote the homeland and people of Ca Mau, brave, resilient, friendly... to friends and visitors from all over the world.
To prepare well for the activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the regrouping to the North, Ca Mau has directed relevant levels, sectors and localities to carry out urban renovation, upgrade facilities, ensure political security, social order and safety, traffic safety... during the activities.
