On the morning of September 18, the People's Committee of Ca Mau province held a press conference for the third quarter and provided information on activities commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Northward regrouping event (1954-2024).
At the press conference, the People's Committee of Ca Mau province said that the activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Northward movement (1954-2024) will take place from November 10 to 25, 2024 with many activities to enhance political ideology education, patriotism, national pride and self-esteem; arouse the spirit of great solidarity, self-reliance and aspiration to develop the country; at the same time, promote, introduce and advertise the homeland and people of Ca Mau as friendly and hospitable, contributing to improving the material and spiritual life of the people.
At least 10 events are scheduled to take place. The main opening ceremony with the theme “Delivering the Day of Reunification” will take place from 8:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on November 23 at the monument area of the Ship Gathering in the North, Song Doc town, Tran Van Thoi district.
There are also other activities such as: Scientific workshop with the theme "200 days of gathering to the North in Ca Mau - strategic vision and historical value" taking place on November 22. Activities recreating the 200 days of gathering to the North in 1954 will take place at its peak in November 2024 with many activities in Tri Phai commune, Tri Luc commune, Thoi Binh district and some other localities in the province recreating the ceremony to send off cadres, soldiers, and people from the South to the North in 1954 and activities of teaching, vocational training, training on science and technology transfer, digital transformation; start-ups to develop household economy.
Also in this series of events, fair activities; mobile art programs; organizing exhibitions of documents, images, artifacts, books and newspapers related to the Geneva Agreement on the cessation of hostilities in Vietnam and the event of regrouping to the North in 1954; souvenirs of cadres who went to the North; exhibitions of local socio-economic development achievements; displays and exhibitions of paintings, photos, documents, books, publications, etc.
