The National Assembly Standing Committee has just issued Resolution No. 1256/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the arrangement of district and commune-level administrative units of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province for the 2023-2025 period.
According to the resolution, Long Dat district was established on the basis of merging the entire natural area of 77.67 km2 and population of 155,438 people of Long Dien district and the entire natural area of 189.74 km2 and population of 86,063 people of Dat Do district.
After its establishment, Long Dat district had a natural area of 267.42 km2 and a population of 241,501 people.
Arrange the commune-level administrative units of Long Dat district as follows:
Establish Tam An commune on the basis of merging the entire natural area of 5.98 km2, population of 4,706 people of An Nhut commune, the entire natural area of 17.39 km2, population of 9,457 people of An Ngai commune and the entire natural area of 13.75 km2, population of 8,470 people of Tam Phuoc commune.
After its establishment, Tam An commune had a natural area of 37.12 km2 and a population of 22,633 people.
Merge the entire natural area of 18.15km2 and population of 4,785 people of Loc An commune into Phuoc Hoi commune. After merging, Phuoc Hoi commune has a natural area of 40.82km2 and a population of 12,395 people.
Merge the entire natural area of 12.98km2 and population of 4,609 people of Long My commune into Phuoc Hai town. After merging, Phuoc Hai town has a natural area of 28.92km2 and a population of 30,545 people.
After the arrangement, Long Dat district has 11 commune-level administrative units, including 7 communes: Lang Dai, Long Tan, Phuoc Hoi, Phuoc Hung, Phuoc Long Tho, Phuoc Tinh, Tam An and 4 towns: Dat Do, Long Dien, Long Hai, Phuoc Hai.
The Resolution also states the arrangement of commune-level administrative units in Ba Ria city as follows:
Merge the entire natural area of 0.96km2 and population of 9,360 people of Phuoc Hiep ward into Phuoc Trung ward. After merging, Phuoc Trung ward has a natural area of 7.19km2 and a population of 17,437 people.
After the arrangement, Ba Ria city has 10 commune-level administrative units, including 7 wards and 3 communes.
Establish Kim Long town on the basis of the entire natural area of 22.12 km2 and population of 15,112 people of Kim Long commune. After the establishment of the town, Chau Duc district has 16 commune-level administrative units, including 14 communes and 2 towns.

The People's Court of Long Dat district, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province is responsible for inheriting the duties and powers of the People's Court of Long Dien district and the People's Court of Dat Do district, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province according to the provisions of law.
Long Dat District People's Procuracy is responsible for inheriting the tasks and powers of Long Dien District People's Procuracy and Dat Do District People's Procuracy, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province according to the provisions of law.
This Resolution comes into force from January 1, 2025.
