On the morning of September 5, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Nghia - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department - attended the opening ceremony of the 2024-2025 school year at Tru Van Tho Secondary School (Cai Lay Town, Tien Giang Province).
At the opening ceremony of the 2024-2025 school year, Mr. Phan Thanh Phong - Principal of Tru Van Tho Secondary School - said that in the 2023-2024 school year, the school had 58 teachers achieving the title of "Advanced Workers", 12 teachers achieving the title of "Basic Emulation Fighter". In addition, many teachers guided students to achieve excellent student results at the town, provincial and national levels.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the new school year, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Nghia - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department - emphasized that during his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh attached great importance to and paid special attention to the country's education cause. He advised, "For the benefit of ten years, we must plant trees. For the benefit of a hundred years, we must educate people."
Imbued with Uncle Ho's teachings, in any conditions and circumstances, our Party and State always care for, invest in, and prioritize the development of education and training, considering "Education and training as the top national policy, the cause of the Party, the State and the entire people", placing education and training in the most important position in the country's development process.
Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia said that Tien Giang ranked first in the Mekong Delta region in terms of the number of national excellent high school students (with 46 awards). The locality also ranked first in the Mekong Delta region and ranked 10th nationwide in the medal rankings at the 10th National Phu Dong Sports Festival in 2024.
Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Nghia shared that Tru Van Tho Secondary School has always been a bright spot in the Tien Giang Education sector. As a national standard school, the school always focuses on innovating teaching and learning methods and forms, applying information technology, and focusing on training students in self-study and self-research methods to receive and apply new knowledge. Many excellent students of the school have achieved high results in provincial and national excellent student competitions.
The Head of the Central Propaganda Department also sent a message to the students who are the future owners of the country and of their homeland Tien Giang. The efforts and striving in studying and training today will bring them provisions for a bright future ahead. In the new school year, I hope that the students will continue to strive to excel in studying and training, carry out the 5 teachings of Uncle Ho to become good children, good students, know how to respect grandparents, parents, respect teachers, love and help friends, especially those with more difficult circumstances than themselves, help each other compete and progress together.
In order to absorb what teachers teach in class, students need to be proactive, actively explore, read more books, learn foreign languages, learn information technology, learn soft skills, participate in physical training activities, and have fun to develop comprehensively, and later become talented people, to contribute to building the country and homeland of Tien Giang to become richer and more beautiful. On this occasion, Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia awarded 50 scholarships (each worth 1 million VND) and the People's Committee of Tien Giang province awarded 20 scholarships (each worth 1 million VND) to students studying at Tru Van Tho Secondary School.
