On the afternoon of February 11, the Da Nang City People's Council held the 6th session (specialized session) and summarized the term of the X term, 2021 – 2026.
Assessing the activities of the City People's Council for the 2021-2026 term, Secretary of the City Party Committee Le Ngoc Quang acknowledged and praised the important results in concretizing the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws into local practical conditions. He said that most of the resolutions of the City People's Council have been highly feasible, agreed upon by voters and people, making an important contribution to maintaining stable development momentum, ensuring national defense, security and social security of the city in the context of many challenges.
In particular, Secretary of the City Party Committee Le Ngoc Quang emphasized the spirit of the 14th National Party Congress on rapid but sustainable development, strong innovation but maintaining stability. He requested the City People's Council from the beginning of the new term to clearly define improving the quality of policy decisions as a central task, innovating operating methods as a regular requirement and taking practical efficiency as the highest measure. The City Party Committee Secretary affirmed that if the city does not innovate its thinking on institutions, it will lose its development opportunities. Therefore, the City People's Council needs to promote its pioneering role, paving the way in governance innovation and modern institutional reform.
Regarding specific tasks, the Secretary of the City Party Committee proposed that each resolution issued by the City People's Council must clearly answer three questions: Is it in line with the policy? Is it close to reality? And will it go into life? In which, it is necessary to focus on completing planning, specific mechanisms to develop connectivity infrastructure, urban areas, transportation and synchronous digital transformation. In particular, the City People's Council needs to have breakthrough policies to support strategic partners in the field of semiconductor microchips, artificial intelligence, creating a premise for Da Nang to not only be the center of the Central region but also an important growth pole of the nation.
Towards the election of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026-2031 term, Secretary of the City Party Committee Le Ngoc Quang requested the Standing Committee of the City People's Council, the City People's Committee and relevant agencies to closely coordinate to organize an election day that is truly a festival for the whole people, ensuring democracy, law and quality. At the same time, each City People's Council deputy needs to maximize the spirit of responsibility, proactively research, listen to voters' opinions to propose practical and feasible solutions for the city's development in the coming journey.
