Khanh Hoa - Secretary of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee leads a delegation to offer incense and flowers to commemorate heroes and martyrs on the occasion of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day.

On the morning of July 25, a delegation of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Khanh Hoa province led by Mr. Tran Phong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee as Head of the delegation came to offer flowers and incense to commemorate heroes and martyrs at many locations in the province to celebrate the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2026).

The delegation offered flowers and incense to commemorate heroes and martyrs at Tram Huong Tower Temple (Nha Trang ward), Hon Dung Martyrs' Cemetery (Tay Nha Trang ward), Gac Ma Soldiers' Memorial Area (Cam Lam commune) and Ninh Thuan Martyrs' Cemetery (Xuan Hai commune).

At the Gac Ma Soldiers Memorial Area, in a solemn and emotional atmosphere, delegates respectfully offered flowers, incense and observed a minute of silence to commemorate 64 officers and soldiers of the Vietnam People's Navy who bravely sacrificed themselves in the battle to protect sea and island sovereignty in 1988.

In front of the monument "Those who lie on the horizon", delegates expressed their deep gratitude to the outstanding children of the nation who dedicated their youth and lives for the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of the Fatherland.

In the space of the wind tomb area commemorating 64 heroes and martyrs of Gac Ma, the working delegation offered incense sticks of gratitude and remembrance.

The sacrifice of heroic martyrs is not only a symbol of patriotism, the steadfast will to protect the sacred sea and islands, but also becomes a source of spiritual strength, arousing national pride and responsibility of today's generations in the cause of building and protecting the country.

In the history of struggle for independence and national defense, millions of outstanding children of the nation have fallen for peace, independence, and freedom. Among them, 64 Gac Ma martyrs are forever engraved in the hearts of the people as a bright symbol of courage and indomitable spirit.

The Party Committee, government and people of Khanh Hoa province affirmed that they will continue to promote revolutionary traditions, unite, and strive to complete socio-economic development goals, build a homeland that is increasingly rich, beautiful, civilized, and modern, worthy of the sacrifices of previous generations.

Khanh Hoa accelerates searching for and identifying martyrs with DNA

Responding to the 500-day and night campaign to search, repatriate and identify martyrs' remains, Khanh Hoa is promoting many solutions to soon bring unidentified martyrs back to their families.

The whole province aims to search for and repatriate about 150 sets of martyrs' remains; verify 168 areas with 946 sources of information about martyrs' graves and take samples of 2,234 sets of remains for DNA testing.

Up to now, all communes and wards have deployed the campaign to each residential area and community.

The Provincial Military Command has established a specialized team to take biological samples at martyrs' cemeteries. Out of a total of 2,183 graves with unidentified information at 7 martyrs' cemeteries, functional forces have exhumed and taken samples from 501 graves, reaching nearly 23% of the plan; 277 samples meet the conditions for DNA testing.

At the same time, from 114 sources of information provided by organizations and individuals, the Provincial Military Command coordinated to verify 19 accurate information, thereby collecting 4 sets of martyrs' remains.

From July 23-26, Khanh Hoa Provincial Police organized a peak period of collecting DNA biological samples of relatives of martyrs in 12 communes and wards. The Provincial Police strives to collect 2,648 DNA samples of eligible relatives.
