In the resistance war against the US to save the country, with an important strategic position as a gateway connecting the South Central and Central Highlands regions, Binh Dinh is the final gathering point of the South, so the US-Western countries have always considered Binh Dinh a key area in their war strategies.
Under the leadership of the Party, the army and people of Binh Dinh bravely stood up against the enemy to liberate their homeland. In particular, in the historic March of the previous 50 years, the army and people launched a general offensive to liberate Quy Nhon town and Binh Dinh province in the spring campaign of 1975.
After 28 days and nights of continuous attacks and uprising, continuous fighting and winning, at 8:00 p.m. on March 31, 1975, the victorious flag of the army and people of Binh Dinh was blown high and completely liberated.
5 decades have passed, but the glitter marks of a time of heroic struggle still do not fade in the memories of every Binh Dinh resident.
Mr. Ho Quoc Dung affirmed that, inheriting and promoting the strong tradition of the heroic homeland of Binh Dinh, right after the liberation day, together with the whole country, the Party Committee and people of Binh Dinh have begun to heal the wounds of war and rebuild the homeland.
In particular, in the past 10 years, the province's socio-economic development has developed rapidly. The province's economic growth rate is an average of 7%/year; ranked 5th out of 14 localities in the North Central and Central Coast regions, ranked 25th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide.
With the achievements and feats, the army and people of Binh Dinh are honored to be recognized, highly appreciated by the Party and the State and awarded the Gold Star Order - the most noble Order of our State.
"All levels, sectors, cadres and people in the province promote the glorious revolutionary tradition, be unanimous, united, united to overcome all difficulties and challenges together, with practical actions contributing to building the homeland of Binh Dinh to become more and more beautiful", Mr. Ho Quoc Dung called on.
At the ceremony, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia warmly commended, acknowledged and congratulated the outstanding results and achievements that the Party Committee, government and people of Binh Dinh province have achieved over the past period.
