On the morning of April 6, with 491/491 National Assembly deputies participating in the vote in favor, the 16th National Assembly passed a Resolution to elect Comrade Tran Thanh Man, Member of the Politburo, Chairman of the 15th National Assembly to hold the position of Chairman of the 16th National Assembly for the term 2026-2031.
Previously, the National Assembly secretly elected Politburo Member, Chairman of the 15th National Assembly Tran Thanh Man to hold the position of Chairman of the 16th National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, term 2026 - 2031.
After the Oath-taking ceremony, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man delivered a speech before the National Assembly.
I would like to sincerely thank the voters of Ho Chi Minh City for trusting me to be elected as a National Assembly Deputy of the 16th term; I would like to sincerely thank the National Assembly deputies for trusting and electing me to hold the position of Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, 16th term" - the National Assembly Chairman said.
According to the National Assembly Chairman, this is a great honor, and also a noble responsibility of his personal responsibility to the Party, State, voters and people nationwide.
In this solemn moment, I would like to express my sincere respect and boundless gratitude to the great President Ho Chi Minh; I would like to express gratitude to previous leaders, veteran revolutionaries, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Heroes of the Armed Forces, Labor Heroes; families of martyrs, wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, families with meritorious services to the country" - the National Assembly Chairwoman said.

According to the National Assembly Chairwoman, our country is facing a historical turning point; happy about the achievements the National Assembly has achieved in the past 80 years, but the responsibility of the National Assembly is extremely heavy, and also extremely glorious.
The 16th National Assembly will continue to inherit and promote the achievements of previous terms, with intelligence, firm political bravery, aspiration for innovation and spirit of serving the People, the National Assembly will continue to strive, worthy of being the National Assembly of the People, by the People, for the People, truly the highest representative body of the People, the highest state power body, the vivid embodiment of the socialist rule-of-law state, all for the goal of a rich people, a strong country, democracy, fairness, and civilization.

The National Assembly Chairwoman wished the Party Central Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat, headed by General Secretary To Lam, to continue to pay attention to leading and directing the activities of the National Assembly.
