According to the announcement of Vietnam Television (VTV), VTV will broadcast live (THTT) the Opening Ceremony of the First Session of the 16th National Assembly and the Inauguration Ceremony of the National Assembly Chairman, President, Prime Minister, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court on VTV1 channel.
VTV will share the signal with domestic press agencies, Party and State agencies to proactively retransmit on traditional television channels, online newspapers and electronic information portals (websites).
Expected live broadcasts on VTV1 channel are as follows:
April 6, 2026
- From 07:50: Opening of the First Session, 16th National Assembly.
- From 10:40 AM: Inauguration ceremony of the National Assembly Chairman.
April 7, 2026
- From 09:15: Inauguration ceremony of the President.
- From 3:00 PM: Prime Minister's inauguration ceremony.
- From 4:30 PM: Inauguration ceremony of the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court.
However, the live broadcast time of the above events may change due to unexpected requests.
To retransmit these programs on their television channels, electronic newspapers and electronic information portals (websites), units can take live television signals on VTV1 channel broadcast through the DVB-T2 terrestrial digital television system from broadcasting stations in the area or directly via satellite.
According to information from the National Assembly Office, on Monday (April 6, 2026), based on the provisions of law, the First Session of the 16th National Assembly will solemnly open at the National Assembly House, Hanoi Capital.
Before the opening of the Session, at 7:00 AM on the same day, leaders of the Party, State, Vietnam Fatherland Front, and National Assembly deputies laid wreaths and visited President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum. Representatives of National Assembly delegations laid wreaths at the Monument to Heroic Martyrs.
At 8:00 AM on the same day, the National Assembly held the opening session of the First Session, 16th National Assembly at Dien Hong Hall, National Assembly House. The opening session was broadcast live on Vietnam Television (VTV1), Voice of Vietnam (VOV1).
On April 5, 2026, the National Assembly will hold a preparatory session. From 9 am, National Assembly delegations will meet to elect Heads of Delegations and Deputy Heads of Delegations.
From 2 pm, the National Assembly meets at the Hall, listening to Politburo Member, Chairman of the 15th National Assembly Tran Thanh Man speak; listening to Member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Secretary General of the National Assembly - Chairman of the National Assembly Office Le Quang Manh present the Report on receiving, explaining, and revising the draft program of the First Session, 16th National Assembly.
