On March 9, according to the Ministry of Public Security's Electronic Information Portal, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long - Deputy Minister of Public Security - sent a letter of commendation to Lao Cai Provincial Police to acknowledge and commend their outstanding achievements in fighting and destroying a gambling ring led by foreigners.
The content of the Letter of Commendation clearly stated: In the past time, Lao Cai Provincial Police have proactively and effectively implemented professional plans and measures, promptly detected and coordinated with the Criminal Police Department to fight and destroy a gambling ring led by foreigners, collaborated with domestic subjects, arrested 97 subjects, seized a total of converted assets of about 720 billion VND, 30 computers, 90 mobile phones and many other evidences.
This is an outstanding achievement demonstrating the determination and high sense of responsibility of Lao Cai Provincial Police in implementing the direction of the Central Party Committee of Public Security and the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security on preventing and combating organized crime and crimes with foreign elements.
The results of the investigation and investigation of the case have clearly demonstrated the spirit of proactive attack on crime; the effective cooperation between local police and the Ministry's professional units; at the same time, deterring and preventing crimes, stabilizing the security and order situation, and strengthening people's trust in the People's Public Security force.
