Answering the press's question about the number of foreign prisoners granted amnesty in this round, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ha Kim Ngoc said that according to announcements from the authorities in Vietnam, there are currently About 643 prisoners with foreign nationality are serving sentences in detention facilities in Vietnam. After reviewing the dossiers, Vietnamese authorities will specifically notify prisoners with foreign nationality who are granted amnesty this time.
Regarding the question related to whether prisoner Chu Ngoc Anh - former Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee - is eligible for amnesty this time or not, Lieutenant General Le Quoc Hung - Deputy Minister of Public Security - said: "The prisoner Chu Ngoc Anh is a prisoner serving a sentence and is treated equally as other prisoners, so it must be specifically considered whether he is eligible for amnesty or not."
