According to the proposed holiday and Tet schedule that is being consulted by ministries and sectors, the Ministry of Home Affairs proposes that the National Day holiday 2027 be off on September 2, 2027, Gregorian calendar and 1 day immediately after, September 3, 2027.
Civil servants and public employees are off for National Day 2027 from Thursday, September 2, 2027 to the end of Sunday, September 5, 2027 Gregorian calendar.
Thus, during the 2027 National Day holiday, civil servants and public employees are entitled to 4 consecutive days off, including 2 National Day holidays according to regulations and 2 weekly holidays.

Explaining this proposal, the Ministry of Home Affairs said that choosing September 3, 2027 as a holiday adjacent to National Day is because it creates a continuous 4-day holiday associated with weekly holidays, creating favorable conditions for civil servants and public employees to actively arrange time for rest and travel.
For the business sector, employers decide to give employees 2 days off, including: 1 day September 2, 2027 Gregorian calendar and 1 day September 1, 2027 or September 3, 2027 Gregorian calendar.
Employers notify employees of the Lunar New Year and National Day holiday plans in 2027 at least 30 days before implementation.
If the weekly holiday coincides with the holiday and Tet holiday specified in Clause 1, Article 112 of the Labor Code, the employer shall arrange for compensatory weekly holiday for the employee on the next working day according to the provisions of Clause 3, Article 111 of the Labor Code.
The Ministry of Home Affairs encourages employers to apply Vietnam Culture Day 2026, Lunar New Year holiday and National Day holiday 2027 for employees as a plan for civil servants and public employees but must ensure full implementation of regimes for employees according to the provisions of law; encourage agreements that are more beneficial to employees.
Other holidays and Tet holidays are implemented according to the provisions of labor law.
