On the afternoon of May 30, a national scientific conference was held in Hanoi "100 years of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism accompanying the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation".
Speaking at the Conference, Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of Propaganda Department and Central Mobilization Nguyen Trong Nghia emphasized that, under the leadership of the Party and the press overcame many difficulties, hardships, challenges, fostering beliefs, blowing the flame of revolutionary enthusiasm in each generation of Vietnamese people, creating the strength of great national solidarity.
A large number of journalists have overcome the harshness, the rain of bombs and bullets of the smoke and fire of war; holding pens and guns to make newspapers and fight. Hundreds of journalists have sacrificed, thousands of people have been injured, but the flow of information has never stopped.
The Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission emphasized that the foundation and prestige of Vietnam today have contributed significantly to the efforts of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press. Every journalist today should be proud of the 100-year tradition of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press.
At the same time, it is necessary to clearly recognize the profound instructions of General Secretary To Lam as a new era that sets new, higher requirements for the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press. Requiring journalism to develop commensurately, reaching out to the nation, worthy of a professional, humane, and modern journalism.
According to the head of the Propaganda Department and the Central Mobilization, first of all, it is necessary to continue to affirm the press as a sharp cultural ideological tool of the Party. Therefore, maintaining the Party's leadership is the principle of immutability; It is also a guarantee for the Party, the Party, the orientation, revolution and humanity of the country's press.
Leadership and direction of the press must be a strategic guidance, a source of inspiration, creating conditions for the press to develop professionally, modernly, and humanely, truly a bridge between the Party, the State and the people and a trusted forum for all social classes.
Continuing the tradition of revolutionary journalism over the past 100 years, we need to continue to build, consolidate, and elevate a generation of future journalists who are beautiful, interior, and profound, imbued with the spirit of serving the country and the people.
Contributing to the training of journalists must be good at journalism, profound in political theory, knowledgeable in social life practices and proficient in technology application.
Build institutions and policies that are oriented and create an environment for the healthy development of the press; urgently complete the legal framework, focusing on amending and supplementing the 2016 Press Law and guiding documents for implementation.
The amendment process needs to grasp the spirit not to ban but to create the development of the press. At the same time, updating the institutionalization of new views and policies of the Party, especially the spirit of Resolution No. 57 of the Politburo on breakthrough development of science and technology, innovation and transformation of national numbers.
Promote research and exploitation of scientific and technological achievements, especially information technology and artificial intelligence; carry out digital transformation of the press associated with administrative reform. Build professional press agencies that operate effectively, efficiently, efficiently and integrate internationally.
Increase the presence of revolutionary press on social networking platforms, mastering the information and propaganda front. First of all, it is the development of a cross-border digital platform, maintaining the brand and position of Vietnamese journalism in the flow of international journalism and media.
The Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee also emphasized the need to improve the efficiency of the press economy. It is necessary to boldly research and develop new business models suitable for the digital environment.
The State needs to create a favorable legal corridor to be able to initially support the testing and promoting press economic models in the right direction. Continue to maintain and perfect the ordering mechanism, support from the State budget for content and publications serving political tasks, foreign affairs, remote areas, ethnic minority areas so that the press can fulfill its responsibilities.
