On April 29, in Ho Chi Minh City, General Secretary To Lam had a meeting with the Chairman of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) Hun Sen to exchange measures to strengthen the relations between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Cambodian People's Party and cooperate on the two countries on the occasion of the Cambodian delegation to attend the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and the country's reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

According to VNA, welcoming the high-ranking Cambodian delegation to join the Vietnamese people on the very important day, General Secretary To Lam affirmed that the Party, State and people of Vietnam attach special importance to and always give high priority to consolidating and developing good neighborly relations, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, long-term sustainability with the Cambodian People's Party, State and people of Cambodia. General Secretary To Lam thanked Cambodia for sending troops to participate in the parade at the April 30 celebration.

The Chairman of the Cambodian People's Party Hun Sen highly appreciated the deep meaning of the Southern Liberation Day, the reunification of the country, showing the strength of the great unity, the heroic spirit, the resilient will of the Vietnamese nation, under the wise leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam; Emphasizing the victory of April 30, 1975 is also a symbol of solidarity and sacrifice for each other between the three peoples of Cambodia - Vietnam - Laos.

Thanks to the victory of April 30, 1975, the Cambodian people defeated the Pol Pot genocide and revival, helping Cambodia stabilize and constantly develop as today, creating a deeper connection between the two peoples, people of the two countries and between senior leaders of the two countries.

President of the Cambodian People's Party Hun Sen also expressed his admiration for the Communist Party of Vietnam, headed by General Secretary To Lam, for drastically implementing the work of streamlining the apparatus at all levels, considering this a valuable experience for Cambodia to study and apply.

President of the Cambodian People's Party Hun Sen emphasized that Cambodia's sending of troops to participate in the parade during the April 30 celebration demonstrates solidarity and standing shoulder to shoulder in the defense of the independence of the two countries, and April 30 is also an extremely meaningful day for Cambodia when 26 years ago Cambodia joined ASEAN in Hanoi.

At the meeting, General Secretary To Lam respectfully invited President of the Cambodian People's Party Hun Sen to attend the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day in Hanoi in September 2025. President of the Cambodian People's Party Hun Sen happily accepted.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man expressed his joy and emotion at welcoming Samdech Techo Hun Sen and the Cambodian high-ranking delegation to attend the ceremony, which not only demonstrates the deep friendship between the two peoples but also a vivid testament to the good neighborly relationship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-term sustainability between the two countries.
