On the morning of May 6, at the Akorda Presidential Palace, the welcoming ceremony for General Secretary To Lam and his wife Ngo Phuong Ly and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation on a state visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan, at the invitation of President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, was solemnly held.
According to VNA, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev presided over the welcoming ceremony for General Secretary To Lam and his wife at the Presidential Palace.
The two leaders introduced the officials to attend the welcoming ceremony and moved them to the podium.
The Captain of the Honor Guard welcomed General Secretary To Lam and his wife on a state visit to Kazakhstan.
The military band played the Vietnamese and Kazakhstanese national anthems.
Then, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev invited General Secretary To Lam to reviews the honor guard.
After that, the two leaders had a small meeting and led the high-ranking delegations of the two countries to hold talks.
Vietnam and the Republic of Kazakhstan established diplomatic relations on June 29, 1992. Since then, the good traditional friendship between the two countries has been continuously consolidated and developed.
Kazakhstan is currently Vietnam's second largest trading partner in the Asia- Europe Economic Union (EAEU). In contrast, in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Vietnam is Kazakhstan's second largest trading partner.
Vietnam mainly exports to Kazakhstan items such as phones and components, machinery, equipment, computers, electronics, agricultural products (rice, cashew nuts, pepper), seafood, canned vegetables, clothes, shoes; and imports from Kazakhstan raw materials such as lead, unprocessed zinc, iron, stainless steel, colored metal products.
Cooperation between the two countries in the fields of culture, tourism, education - training, transportation, energy, local cooperation and people-to-people exchanges has always been maintained and consolidated.
This state visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan by General Secretary To Lam and his wife and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation demonstrates the importance and consistent policy of the Party and State of Vietnam in strengthening the friendship and comprehensive cooperation with traditional friend countries in Central Asia, the South Cauckaz and Eastern Europe, including Kazakhstan.
The visit contributes to deepening the bilateral relationship and comprehensive development in all fields. The Vietnam - Kazakhstan bilateral relationship will be upgraded to a new level in line with the common interests of the two countries.
