According to VNA, within the framework of the state visit to Kazakhstan, on the evening of May 5, local time, General Secretary To Lam and his wife, along with the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, had a friendly meeting with officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Kazakhstan and representatives of the Vietnamese community living, studying and working in Kazakhstan.
In the warm, intimate, rich atmosphere of the people in the distance, the Vietnamese Ambassador to Kazakhstan Pham Thai Nhu Mai reported to the General Secretary about the results of the Embassy's work, the situation of Vietnam - Kazakhstan bilateral relations and work for the Vietnamese community in the area.
On behalf of the Vietnamese community in Kazakhstan, some community representatives expressed their honor to meet with General Secretary To Lam, expressing their excitement, pride and emotion when witnessing the strong development of the country in all aspects; and at the same time proposing a number of solutions to strengthen cooperation between Vietnam and Kazakhstan in science, technology, education and training in the coming time.
The community representatives believe that Vietnam's increasingly high position in the international arena is a motivation to motivate each child abroad to be more confident and attached to their roots, and at the same time thank the Party and State for their attention to the Vietnamese community abroad in general and in Kazakhstan in particular.
Speaking at the meeting, General Secretary To Lam expressed his delight at visiting Kazakhstan for the first time as General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, marking an important step in the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Kazakhstan.
Regarding the Vietnam - Kazakhstan relationship, the General Secretary said that the two countries will discuss and wish to establish a strategic partnership, in line with the interests of Vietnam and Kazakhstan. Economic and trade cooperation is developing positively. The fields of tourism, cultural, education - training, and people-to-people exchange cooperation also recorded many positive results.
Informing the people about the situation in the country, the General Secretary emphasized that after nearly 40 years of Doi Moi, Vietnam has achieved important achievements in many fields, from politics, economy, culture, foreign affairs and national defense and security. Political, economic, cultural, social, scientific - technological, national defense and security potentials are constantly improving. Foreign affairs activities have also achieved many important achievements.
The General Secretary was happy to see that the Vietnamese community in Kazakhstan was not much, but it had deeply integrated into the local society and growing; highly appreciate the spirit of solidarity and efforts to preserve the national cultural identity of the Vietnamese community in Kazakhstan; Recognizing the contributions of the Vietnamese Association and the Vietnam Youth Intellectual Association in Kazakhstan, expect these organizations to continue promoting the core role, a solid bridge to connect overseas Vietnamese to the homeland.
